News From the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear Parents, students, teachers and Sekolah Ciputra community,

Congratulations to all those who competed in the OSIS chess tournament this week. Congratulations also to all the elementary students who took part in our elementary football tournament over the weekend.  I cannot speak highly enough of our teams for their skills, commitment and sportsmanship. It was a wonderful event and I hope it will continue to grow in the future.

We have just received the results of our participants in the world Mathematics Olympiad.  21/43 Sekolah Ciputra entrants received awards. These were 4 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze awards. The gold recipients have been invited to the finals in Kuala Lumpur. Congratulations to the whole team!

We look forward to the input of those parents and students who will be helping with the IBO and WASC self-studies at the staff only day on Friday 10th. We also look forward to our continuum cross country which will involve numerous schools with students from elementary all the way up to grade 11. The events keep coming with a badminton tournament all weekend this weekend.  The following week we have our grade 10 and 11 musical recital, our inaugural golf tournament on the 17th then a huge iteration of the World Scholars Cup on the 18th and 19th. The organisation and supervision of all these events is enormous. We are very lucky to have passionate and committed support from organisations like the PSG, OSIS, STUCO as well as our activities coordinator, sports coordinator and staff. The sheer scope of the activities provided is wonderful ensuring there is something for everyone. It demonstrates the IBO learner profile of balance and is an important part of our commitment to prepare students not only for school but for life beyond it.

Have a great week.

Martin Blackburn
