News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,

This past week has been filled with outstanding achievements and meaningful celebrations. Our Grade 12 students have demonstrated exemplary conduct and academic integrity during their mock examinations. These assessments serve as an excellent barometer of progress as we approach the IB examinations, and we are pleased with the dedication and focus shown by our students and the professionalism of our staff led by IBDP coordinator Pak Simon.  Another week remains and then students can use what they have learned in their final run up to the full DP examinations.

In the PYP, we celebrated our ‘Words Without Borders’ week, an opportunity for students to embrace linguistic and cultural diversity. This event highlighted the importance of understanding and appreciating different languages, fostering a deeper sense of global citizenship among our young learners.  I was privileged to attend a meeting at the early planning stages of this event and can attest whole heartedly to the commitment and effort of the staff involved.

Our students also participated in the SNA Dance Competition over the weekend, showcasing their talent and commitment. We eagerly await the results.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting week of sporting events. The Spartan Cup for senior girls’ basketball and the SNA Badminton Tournament will take place this week, giving our students another opportunity to demonstrate their skills and sportsmanship. Additionally, the senior section of the Ciputra Cup begins the following week, promising to be a thrilling competition. We wish all our athletes the best of luck in these upcoming events and our thanks to OSIS for their commitment and organisation.

Another notable upcoming event is the cancer charity concert being held on the 19th.  This is a student led event that encapsulates the essence of our vision.

Beyond academics and sports, we continue to emphasise the importance of responsibility in our school community. For example, students are expected to tidy up after themselves, particularly in the canteen. This simple act helps build independence and resilience and aligns with our school’s vision. It is heartening to see even our youngest students take responsibility for themselves, reinforcing the values of integrity and respect in everyday actions.

As we continue through the term, we encourage everyone to stay engaged, support one another, and make the most of every opportunity. Thank you for your on going commitment to our school community.

Have a great week!
