Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,
Last week, we were proud to host the Personal Project Exhibition, a showcase of our Grade 10 students’ creativity, dedication, and problem-solving abilities. This event highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit and IB Approaches to Learning (AtL) skills that are central to our curriculum. Students demonstrated research, communication, and self-management skills while creating impressive projects, reflecting their personal passions and aspirations. A special congratulations goes to Raisha Ashilla Putri, who was awarded the Executive Principal’s Choice, Personal Project Award for her outstanding work.
The Personal Project is a vital part of the IB Middle Years Programme, encouraging students to take ownership of their learning. By setting their own goals, managing time effectively, and overcoming challenges, students develop resilience and independence—qualities essential for success in further education and beyond.
Looking ahead, we have an exciting line-up of events. The SIS Pass Basketball Competition started last week and continued over the weekend. We got the news on Sunday that our teams had all won their respective divisions which is quite and accomplishment. Congratulations! Our athletes will also compete in the Elyon Futsal and Basketball Tournaments, later in the week.
Next week, Grade 10 students will take part in Work Experience Week, an opportunity to step into professional environments and gain firsthand insight into the working world. This experience is invaluable in helping students develop responsibility, confidence, and practical skills that will serve them in future careers. Students will gain insights into both what they want to do in the future and maybe into what they don’t want to do!
Our Grade 12 Visual Arts Exhibition is also set to take place, featuring an array of outstanding artistic works. A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Executive Director’s Award, recognising exceptional artistic achievement. This is the 11th year that this award has been presented, and the winner’s artwork will join those of our winners from the past 10 years on display in our art gallery
Academically, students will be sitting the PSAT examinations, an important step in preparing for future standardised assessments. We are a SATs and PSATs testing centre so will have students from inside and outside the school participating. We wish all participants the best of luck.
Finally, we will celebrate International Mathematics Day next Friday with special activities for students and parents. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the beauty and importance of mathematics in everyday life. We encourage everyone to take part in the events and enjoy the celebration of this essential subject.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our students and school community.
Have a great week!
Martin Blackburn
Executive Principal
