Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,
This week we celebrate the outstanding success of our PYP Exhibition. The quality of learning on display has been exceptional. Our Grade 6 students demonstrated not only deep understanding of complex, real-world issues, but also remarkable collegiality as they worked collaboratively in teams. The presentations were confident, articulate and thoughtfully constructed, reflecting months of inquiry, research, and reflection.
It was particularly pleasing to welcome visitors from other schools who came to view the Exhibition. Their feedback highlighted the depth of thinking, the clarity of communication, and the strong sense of purpose evident in our students’ work. The Exhibition embodies the very heart of the IB philosophy: students as inquirers, communicators, principled thinkers and reflective learners who understand that learning carries responsibility. We are immensely proud of the maturity and commitment to excellence shown by our students, and we thank our teachers and mentors for guiding them so skilfully.
Supporting this level of learning is our continued focus on professional growth. Throughout this year, staff have been engaged in ongoing professional development in concept-based learning. With the support of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS), we are privileged to welcome international consultant Julie Stern to Sekolah Ciputra this weekend. Her workshops on Saturday and Sunday will further strengthen our shared understanding of how to design learning that promotes deep thinking, transfer of knowledge, and meaningful connections across disciplines.
During the week, we also look forward to the Grade 12 Visual Arts Exhibition, including the presentation of awards and the announcement of the Executive Director’s Award, a valued tradition begun during Pak Eric’s tenure as School Director. Previous prize-winning works are proudly displayed in our art gallery, reminding us of the strong legacy of artistic excellence within our school.
In addition, students in Grades 1–6 will undertake WIDA testing, providing further insight into English language development and helping us tailor support to ensure every learner continues to grow with confidence. On Tuesday, we also look forward to our Parent Empowerment Workshop, another important opportunity to strengthen the partnership between home and school.
Finally, it is encouraging to see our Grade 12 students taking full advantage of extra tutorials and support sessions as they prepare for their forthcoming examinations. Their initiative and determination reflect resilience and a commitment to achieving their personal best.
Together, these experiences showcase the depth, quality and shared purpose that define our learning community.
Have a great week!
Martin Blackburn
Executive Principal
