News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,

This past week has been an exciting one at Sekolah Ciputra. We kicked off the highly anticipated Ciputra Cup senior basketball competition, where our student-athletes demonstrated outstanding teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. Events like these not only foster school spirit but also reinforce key values such as perseverance and collaboration.

Our Student Council (STUCO) organised a visit to an orphanage, Panti Asuhan St. Yakobus, Manukan Lor and a school, SD Baptis Immanuel, HR Muhammad exemplifying the IB learner profile traits of caring and principled action. Through initiatives like this, our students continue to develop a strong sense of social responsibility, giving back to the community in meaningful ways.  During these visits, students donated essential supplies, including school materials, physical education equipment, and other necessities. Beyond providing much-needed support, this initiative encourages our students to develop empathy, responsibility, and social awareness.

Meanwhile, our Grade 12 students successfully completed their mock examinations. These exams play a crucial role in preparing students for their final IB Diploma Programme assessments, providing valuable feedback to guide their revision in the months ahead. We commend their hard work and dedication during this demanding period.

Looking ahead, we are excited about upcoming events that celebrate learning and community engagement. The PYP Exhibition is approaching, marking a significant milestone for our Primary Years Programme students. This exhibition is the culmination of their PYP journey, showcasing their research, inquiry, and critical thinking skills. It also reflects their ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and take responsible action—qualities that prepare them for success in the Middle Years Programme and beyond.

In the High School, we will host a US University Mini Fair, offering students valuable insights into higher education opportunities abroad. Engaging directly with university representatives will help them make informed decisions about their academic futures.

Additionally, we are pleased to invite High School parents to a coffee afternoon, designed to strengthen home-school connections. This follows last week’s PYP coffee morning, where parents had the chance to engage with teachers and gain deeper insights into their children’s learning experiences.

Parental engagement plays a vital role in student success. When parents are actively involved in their child’s education—whether through attending school events, communicating with teachers, or supporting learning at home—students benefit from increased motivation, confidence, and achievement. We encourage all parents to take advantage of these opportunities to build strong partnerships with the school.

Have a great week!
