News from the Executive Principal’s Desk

Dear parents, students, teachers and alumni of Sekolah Ciputra,

This past week has once again demonstrated the depth and diversity of learning experiences at Sekolah Ciputra, and the ways in which our mission and vision are brought to life across the school.

A major highlight has been the participation of a large number of our students in THIMUN Singapore, one of the most respected Model United Nations conferences in the world. Engaging in debates on global issues alongside peers from many countries gave our students a rich international perspective and a real understanding of global citizenship. These opportunities foster the attributes of the IB learner profile—students who are open-minded, knowledgeable, and communicators—and reflect our vision to nurture young people who contribute positively to the world.

Last week also saw senior staff from across the continuum attend the Founder’s Day Celebration in Jakarta, honouring the life and legacy of Pak Ciputra. His vision of education as a means to empower the next generation of Indonesian entrepreneurs continues to guide and inspire us. That vision was powerfully evident in our Grade 4 Kidpreneur Fair, a stunning success that showcased creativity, innovation and business acumen among our youngest learners.

We also had teams participating in the SIS PASS Tournament—results are still to come, but we are proud of all students who represented the school with enthusiasm and teamwork.

Looking ahead, next week promises to be equally dynamic. Students will take part in the American Mathematics Olympiad, continuing to challenge themselves academically on an international stage. Grade 10 parents are invited to attend a workshop to help understand and interpret the CAT4 results—an important step in supporting student progress. We also look forward to the start of the Ciputra Cup Junior Soccer and Volleyball Tournament, organised by our student leaders, which will once again highlight our strong spirit of initiative and teamwork. Basketball tryouts for Season 2 will also take place.

Contrasting with the international flavour it was also lovely to see the ‘Sedekah Bumi”  the Javanese traditional ceremony or tradition as an expression of gratitude to God for the produce of the earth and the natural blessings that have been given.

Finally, a reminder that High School Semester Examinations for Grades 10 and 11 begin on 25 November. We encourage students to plan ahead, stay balanced and reflect the IB learner profile attributes of principled and balanced learners as they prepare.

This week’s events truly embody the essence of Sekolah Ciputra—developing confident, entrepreneurial and internationally minded learners who combine integrity, professionalism and professionalism in everything they do whilst honouring their traditions.

Have a great week!
